2007 three Carignane Lucchesi Contra Costa County
This Carignane is sourced from ancient vines in Contra Costa County. It is farmed by Alan Lucchesi whose family has grown grapes in the county for three generations. Carignane is one of the most widely planted red grapes in the world and is typically used as a blender grape. However, the Lucchesi Vineyard was established over 100 years ago and produces very low-yields but high levels of fruit concentration. This wine exhibits great ripe black-cherry and spice characters with a smooth tannin structure. $26/750ml - cases produced 336
